Enrique Washington’s most meaningful work over the past 20 years has involved helping individuals and organizations reach their full potential. This work includes the creation and implementation of executive talent acquisition and leadership development strategies with a focus on diversity within Sporting Goods, Lifestyle, Outdoor and Public Agency organizations. Enrique developed his expertise through performing and leading talent acquisition in five diverse Portland area corporations, including Nike and The Generator Group, which he co-founded.
Among his many accomplishments, Enrique was a recipient of Portland Business Journal’s “40 under 40” award. He is the co-author of the upcoming book, Using Competencies to Establish a Common Language Across a Talent Management System. Enrique is a contributing writer to Diversity Executive and Talent Management Magazine, and led a research project to understand trends and best practices to create a Practical Guide for Recruiting Minority Chief Executive Officers at Public Transportation Agencies. He is also the host of The Talent Lab, a podcast show dedicated to informing its listeners about talent management trends and practices.
Enrique holds a B.S. in Marketing and an M.S. in Corporate and Public Communication from Seton Hall University. He also holds a M.S. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University. Enrique is an accomplished athlete; he was named an All-American in Track and Field and remains an avid runner, snowboarder and multi-sport athlete. An avid photographer, Enrique, his wife and two beautiful children live in Portland, Oregon.
Enrique merged his seventeen-year-old firm, The Generator Group, with McDermott & Bull in January of 2016. Later that year, he was recruited to take on a global leadership talent acquisition and development effort at EA Sports. Enrique continues to serve as Special Advisor to Craig Sabina, Active Outdoor & Sporting Goods Practice leader at McDermott & Bull. In this role, he helps to expand their practice in active sports and public agency leadership recruiting.
