Galit Shokrian is a Principal Consultant at McDermott & Bull. Her practice areas include Real Estate and Retail, industries she has been deeply involved with for a combined 25 years.
Galit joined KB Home, a publicly traded national homebuilder, and built and led several different teams during her time with the company. As Vice President of Marketing, she helped create KB Agency, the internal marketing agency for the company and oversaw a $65M advertising budget. Galit negotiated all major licensing agreements for KB Home including an exclusive, first-of-its-kind master licensing agreement with the Walt Disney Company.
After 15 years with KB Home, Galit was tapped by Southern California’s premier luxury developer, Rick J. Caruso, to join his company as SVP, Marketing and Communications. Caruso is one of the largest privately held commercial and real estate development companies in the U.S., with a diverse portfolio of retail and mixed-use luxury residential properties that attract tens of millions of guests each year. Two of its properties, The Grove and The Americana at Brand shopping centers, are among the top 15 most productive shopping centers in the world.
At Caruso, Galit created and led the first in-house marketing, advertising, and communications team, serving as the creative head for the company from 2007 – 2015. Galit and her team transformed the landscape of landlord/tenant relations within the industry through unique, strategic marketing execution. They were recognized with multiple ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) awards during her tenure.
Galit launched “Hello-Glendale,” a marketing initiative designed to increase and shape brand awareness for the city of Glendale. As a result of the effort, Glendale was named Los Angeles Neighborhood of the year with a subsequent explosion in commercial and housing activity in the area, all of which increased traffic and sales at The Americana At Brand. While at Caruso, Galit also served as Chair of the Marketing Committee and sat on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board.
Most recently, Galit founded GS Wave, a marketing and branding consulting practice specializing in a range of industries including real estate, hospitality, retail, lifestyle, fashion, and consumer products.
Galit holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. Galit, her husband Michael, and their three boys reside in Los Angeles.
