Stu Leibach serves as Principal Consultant for McDermott & Bull and is a member of the firm’s national Consumer Products & Retail Practice, based out of its New York City office. With expertise in scaling and operating both private and public consumer products and retail businesses, Stu has a proven track record of assembling high performing executive teams. Throughout his career, Stu led culture transformations and was instrumental in selecting executive talent including C-Suite members and senior management in the areas of Sales, Distribution, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Technology.
Since joining McDermott and Bull, Stu has led executive search assignments across multiple functions of CPG and retail, from Director-level to C-Suite, partnering with companies ranging from PE-backed startups to publicly traded multi-billion dollar companies.
Prior to joining McDermott & Bull, Stu was an entrepreneur and partner in eSpecialty Brands, a manufacturing, distribution and retail/eCom business. With the partnership of private equity and through subsequent acquisitions, Stu led the expansion of the company, which was ultimately acquired by a $500 million dollar publicly-traded specialty retailer, where he served in key executive roles over a 15-year period.
Stu earned a Marketing degree from the University of Iowa where he studied Business and Creative Arts. As a survivor himself, Stu is long-time volunteer and fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
